Not quite KB. what the Heir-to-Blair said was if everybody else in the whole World agreed to a Tobin tax, he would as well. This is a polite way of saying,"When Hell freezes over". BTW. Cameron is not a Tory. He is to the left of Heath.
Hmmm - I think you give Cameron too much credit there Grumpy. The BBC quotes him as saying he thought such a tax would be a "good thing". I think he probably means it.
K, I think you're correct. Mr Cameron is a mediocre man (possibly thinking he's a good man) doing bad things. The Tobin tax is the equivalent of a parasite sucking the lifeblood from the host. The EU is totally evil.
John - what I found especially galling was that this is coming from a conservative prime minister too.
He doesn't appear to have considered that a global tax would also require (and fund) a global administration.....
